Lifelong Legacies

The Chanticleer Singers will be joined by the choir of Jesus College, Cambridge in a celebration of the lives of composers Leonard Bernstein and Charles Hubert Parry, as well as the 100th anniversary of Nelson Mandela’s birth. They will sing Bernstein’s seminal work the Chichester Psalms, as well as various choral works by Parry, including the famous hymn ‘Jerusalem’. In addition, they will be singing a new tribute medley to Nelson Mandela specially conceptualised and commissioned by the Chanticleer Singers by the local arranger Ralf Schmitt. They will be joined by a small ensemble from the Johannesburg Festival Orchestra as well as organ scholars from Jesus College.
